Behind the scenes at NOT.
A short honest look at who we are, why we started, and how a week with the team actually runs.
Who we are
NOT Editing is a small managed editorial team based in Norway. Right now that's 6 editors, 1 thumbnail editor, and 1 project manager. Little team, tight loop, no agency layers.
Why we started this
We were watching too many of the creators we manage lose their editors at the worst times. Editor goes on holiday the week a sponsorship is due. Editor ghosts halfway through a series. Creator ends up filming a Discord recruitment call instead of a video.
So we built the fallback. Multiple editors on a team means if someone is sick or on holiday, someone else picks up. You don't feel it. Your upload schedule doesn't feel it. That's the whole point.
How a week actually runs
- Everything lives in a shared Discord server. That's where announcements, quick questions, and delivery pings happen.
- Raw footage goes into Google Drive. One folder per project, structured the same way every time.
- Every edit request is a ticket. You fill out an Asana form with the video, target length, and notes. The PM assigns it, the editor delivers it, you get a ping.
- One revision round included. Same form flow.
- Invoicing at month-end. One Stripe invoice for everything shipped that month. First-time large projects are invoiced upfront.
What "managed" actually means
You don't chase the editor. You don't schedule anything. You don't renegotiate rates on every video. You drop footage, submit a ticket, get an edit. If something needs escalating, the PM does that. That's it.
The rest of your day goes back to being a creator.
Ready to hand this off?
NOT Editing is a managed editorial service for creators. Long-form, shorts, thumbnails and project management, run by a dedicated editor with a backup, so you can go back to recording.
